HABITAT: Disturbed areas, abandoned rural yards and fields; native to se. Asia (Indomalesia), commonly cultivated in our area (mainly in the Coastal Plain) and commonly escaped.
COMMENTS: The fruits are sometimes used as beads; they are very poisonous if ingested.
