COMMENTS: Se. TN (Cumberland Plateau) (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997), nw. GA, and n. AL west to OK and e. and sc. TX. A small tree of limestone woodlands and glade margins, occasionally planted as an ornamental tree.
