This exceptionally lovely switchgrass cultivar was named by Rick Darke for the lower Delaware beach town where he found it growing on a sand dune. Its distinctive blue-gray foliage is topped in late summer by airy caramel-brown seed heads. This grass is highly tolerant of heat, drought, and humidity. It does best in drier, less fertile soils, where it will better keep its upright and compact form. It works well in smaller gardens.
